             abstract = "The risk of oil spill in the coastal zones justify a multitemporal 
                         monitoring supported by the Environmental Sensitivity Index Maps 
                         to Oil Spill, which facilite the identification of environments 
                         with preservation priority, allowing, the aiming of the available 
                         resources and the efficient mobilization of the protection and 
                         cleanness teams in cases of spills. The main objective of this 
                         work is the data-collecting to develop an environmental geocoded 
                         database, as contribution to the monitoring of the activities of 
                         the petroliferous industry situated between the cities of S{\~a}o 
                         Bento do Norte and Areia Branca, in the northern coast of the RN 
                         State. The strategy of development consisted of bibliographical 
                         research of concepts and specific techniques; research of the 
                         preexisting cartographic data; confection of the digital 
                         cartographic base using ER Mapper v. 6.4 and Arcview v. 3.2 to 
                         elaborate digital thematic maps, from the interpretation of 
                         products of multispectral orbital remote sensors; and the digital 
                         storing of the result data in a geocoded database.",
